Audley Group, the UK’s leading provider of retirement villages, today announces the appointment of Shaun Swanepoel as its new Group Financial Director.
With a wealth of financial experience, honed over 15 years in the industry, Shaun joins Audley Group from his previous role as Director of Finance and Accounting at MSC Cruise Management, having also held senior roles at EY.
As Financial Director, Shaun will work closely with Gary Burton, CFO, to help drive Audley Group’s growth plans and the group’s strategic financial direction.
Shaun joins at a pivotal time for the business with the opening of its first Mayfield Village in Watford this autumn, alongside two Audley Village openings taking place this year. Accessible to both property owners and the neighbouring communities, the villages offer extensive leisure facilities including a library, restaurant and bar, swimming pool and health club, with flexible wellbeing and care support services available.
It is a key time for Audley Group as it continues to answer the ever-increasing demand for more retirement living options, as the benefits of integrated retirement communities become increasingly recognised within the market, the investor community and government.
Gary Burton, Chief Financial Officer, commented: “Shaun is an excellent hire for Audley Group and we’re very pleased to welcome him to the team. Having led the financial division of the one of the world’s largest cruise firms, his breadth of experience will be invaluable as we move forward with both our Audley and Mayfield propositions.“
Shaun Swanepoel, Financial Director, Audley Group, commented: “I am thrilled to be joining Audley, a business that is a leader in its sector and at a strategically important moment in its growth aspirations.
“The Audley and Mayfield offerings are answering a growing need in the market and are exactly what is required if we are to meet the rising demands of our ageing population. The opportunity this sector presents is an exciting prospect and I’m looking forward playing a part in Audley’s future.”
